Well-Marked Low-Pressure Over Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, Heavy Rains Likely

Depression over Vidarbha and adjoining parts has moved west-northwest and is now positioned over North Madhya Maharashtra and Southwest Madhya Pradesh as a well-marked low-pressure area. The weather system is likely to meander over the region for the next 4-5 days. Active to vigorous monsoon conditions are expected over the central and western parts of the country. Scattered heavy rainfall is quite likely, shifting pockets, during this entire week.

A well-marked low-pressure area is likely to weaken and move over the tri-junction of Madhya Pradesh, North Madhya Maharashtra and Southeast Rajasthan. The circulation of the system will keep hovering over Parts of West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan, during the second half of this week. Heavy rains from Madhya Maharashtra will shift by tomorrow and the intense weather activity will remain confined to Southwest Madhya Pradesh and Southeast Rajasthan.

Places at risk of heavy rainfall will include Indore, Dhar, Khargone, Barwani, Khandwa, Ujjain, Dewas, Ratlam, Jhabua, and Alirajpur in West Madhya Pradesh. Neighbouring Southeast Rajasthan will have inclement weather conditions covering Banswara, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Jhalawar, Kota, Baran, Bundi, Bhilwara and Sirohi. Peripherals of Gujarat, mostly in the northern and central parts, will observe moderate to heavy rainfall. The vulnerable locations will include Dahod, Godhra, Aravali, Mahisagar, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Palanpur, Mehsana, Deesa, Patan, Sabarkantha and Banaskantha. The weather conditions will start improving from 10th September onward over the entire region.
