As of 05:30 pm IST, Satna in Madhya Pradesh received a whopping 245 mm of rain in the span of a meagre 9 hours, i.e from 08:30 am in the morning to 05:30 pm in the evening. Other areas of the region also received good amount of rainfall. Places such as Panchmarhi received 103 mm of rainfall, Damoh received 86 mm of rainfall, Sagar received 51 mm of rainfall and Gwalior received 40 mm of rainfall.
This weather activity is likely to remain over the region for next 48 hours. And post that it will weaken as it moves towards Westerly direction.

Monsoon is vigorous over Madhya Pradesh at the moment. Good Monsoon rains have been witnessed over the region. This could be attributed to the well-marked low pressure area over East Uttar Pradesh, which has now moved towards Southwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km. The system may strengthen further into a depression within next 24 hours.
For the last couple of days, East Madhya Pradesh has been receiving good spells of rain. As of now, East Madhya Pradesh has received 3% above normal Monsoon rains and West Madhya Pradesh has received excess rains to the tune of 21%.
During last 24 hours, the state has received widespread moderate to heavy rainfall with few places receiving very heavy showers. Here's a look:
