Depression over Odisha moved northwest and slightly weakened. A well marked low pressure area now lies over East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh region. The weather system will continue moving westward and weaken to a low pressure area shortly, over central and western parts of Madhya Pradesh. Subsequently, it will merge with the pre-existing circulation over Gulf of Cambay and Saurashtra.
As the monsoon systems weaken by virtue of travel over land, the spread increases due to loosening of its grip. Accordingly, the span of weather activity will cover Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, North Madhya Maharashtra and peripherals of Gujarat and Rajasthan. The depression has lashed the state of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Madhya Pradesh with very heavy rains in the past 24hr. Sambalpur, Chhatrapur, Bhubaneshwar airport, Titlagarh, Rajnandgaon, Mana, Wardha, Bramhapuri, Chhindwara, Betul, Hoshangabad and Indore have been deluged with intense and continuous rains.
As the low pressure moves over central and southern parts of Madhya Pradesh, heavy rainfall belt will move to southwester parts of Madhya Pradesh. The zone of convergence will pass through and through this region and protruding over some parts of North Madhya Maharashtra and Southeast Rajasthan. Very heavy rains are expected over Dhar, Khargone, Barwani, Burhanpur, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Ratlam, Harda , Dewas, Indore and Ujjain. As the low pressure moves further west and weakens, rains will shift to Gujarat and South Rajasthan, albeit less intense on 11th and 12thAugust. Later, on 13th and 14th Aug, the weather activity will ease out further over the region.
