
A prolonged rainy spell of rain is approaching Northeast India. The rainfall activity is expected to begin around March 13, wherein rains will be very light in nature. Scattered rains may be seen around March 14 while starting March 15, the region will be seeing some good rains.
Fairly widespread rains will begin around March 15, which will be covering almost the entire Northeast India. Areas of Gangtok, Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat, Pasighat, Shillong, Badapani, Dibrugarh, Itanagar, will be seeing rains.
As far as the spread and intensity of rains is concerned, while many parts of Northeast India will see some rains, more weather activities will be observed over Assam and Meghalaya. Rains will be on the lesser over Manipur and Mizoram. Rains will be a week long activity, starting with March 15 with rains continuing over Northeast India. Some parts may even see heavier showers.
A Bay anti-cyclone is pumping moisture over Northeast India and the passage of systems from the Western Himalayas will be responsible for rains over these areas.
