Rainfall during this pre monsoon season has been very low over Central parts of the country. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat are large rain deficient, and Maharashtra is in deficient rain category. Temperature of these four states remained on higher side throughout the pre monsoon season. Rajasthan, parts of Gujarat, Vidarbha, North Madhya Maharashtra and western parts of Madhya Pradesh witnessed prolonged heat wave conditions.
Pre monsoon activities have commenced over parts of North Rajasthan since May 20th and may continue on and off until May 23rd. Thereafter, the weather of entire Rajasthan is expected to go dry, and temperatures will once again shoot up leading to heat wave conditions. We do not expect any significant weather activity over Rajasthan for at least next one week.
Eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh have received scattered light rain during last 24 hours. Now rain activities may cover some more parts of the state. Places like Gwalior, Guna, Shahjapur, Tikamgarh, Sagar, Umaria, Damoh, Jabalpur, Rewa, Satna and Sidhi may receive scattered rain until May 24. Thereafter weather of Madhya Pradesh will go dry, however we do not expect any significant weather activities over Southwest Rajasthan in coming days also.
There may be light rain activity over Konkan and Goa and South Madhya Maharashtra in coming days. Isolated thunderstorm or light rain may occur over Vidarbha and Marathwada around May 26 and 27. Most parts of North Madhya Maharashtra will remain dry and hot.
Gujarat has not received any weather activity since last many days and weather is dry and hot. There is no significant weather system developing over Northeast Arabian Sea, Gujarat or south west Rajasthan which would have given some weather activity to Gujarat. Weather of Gujarat will remain dry and hot throughout the month of May.
