Since last many days, the entire Northwest India has been witnessing dry and warm weather conditions. Although, some parts of North Rajasthan and Haryana experienced thundershowers over isolated places but that did not made any difference.
As of now, a Western Disturbance which is moving across Jammu and Kashmir and its induced Cyclonic Circulation is seen over West Rajasthan and its adjoining areas. Therefore, spells of rain and thunderstorm activity are likely over Punjab and isolated places of North Rajasthan.
As per Skymet Weather, all these weather activities taking place over northwestern plains will be highly localized. Thus it won’t have much impact on the ongoing warm weather conditions.
The month of October is known for dry weather across northwestern plains of the country. The northwestern plains and hilly regions experience rains only because of the passage of Western Disturbances and their induced cyclonic circulations.
If we talk about weather of Delhi-NCR in previous days, we can say that the continuous change in wind directions have resulted in increased levels of pollution. Adding on to this, stubble burning has started in some pockets of Punjab and Haryana. The pollution will persist till the time we don’t witness heavy rains and strong winds over Delhi-NCR.
Rains certainly help in washing out smoke particles or pollutants from the atmosphere. Till then, the temperatures continue to remain same over the plains with no relief foreseen.
