Delhi post

September made a good start for the national capital, Delhi with both the observatories recording some good Monsoon spells. However, rains over Delhi and NCR reduced the very second day of the month while the weather was almost dry during the last 24 hours.

Both the Palam and Safdarjung Observatory did not record any rains during the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday. The maximums that were settling close to the 30-degree mark scaled up to settle near the scorching 35 degree Celsius making the weather warm and dry.

As per Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon trough is running along the foothills of the Himalayas and the winds over Delhi and its adjoining Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad are blowing from the Northwest direction. Due to these dry winds, the humidity levels have reduced and thus the weather has become dry.

Moreover, the weather is anticipated to remain mainly dry for another 24 hours over the capital of the country and its neighboring regions. However, some light spell of rains is likely to make a comeback around September 5 or 6.

Skymet Weather further reiterates that the southwesterly winds blowing from the Arabian Sea will mix up with the prevailing dry northwesterly winds blowing over the region. This amalgamation of both the air masses will thus lead to the development of convective clouds resulting in light rains. Though these rains will be of a shorter duration at one or two places over Delhi and NCR.
