Weather to remain clear and dry in Akola, Ratnagiri, Pune, Nashik; Jowar, Wheat to be harvested

After the occurrence of rain and hailstorm in the past week, now dry weather has tightened its grip over the entire state of Maharashtra. Furthermore, with the persistence of aridness throughout the area, maximum temperatures have mounted and settled above normal.

For instance, both the day and night temperatures over few places of Konkan region have reached the 35-degree mark during the past 24 hours. In Madhya Maharashtra, the maximums are settling near normal, while the minimums are slightly above the normal level.

The maximum and minimum temperatures of Marathwada have also been settling near the normal range. For Vidarbha region, the maximum temperatures are settling close to normal, whereas the minimum temperatures are one to two degrees below the normal.

These weather conditions could be attributed to the prevalence of easterly winds that are relatively warm and moist in nature.

As per Skymet Weather, not much change is anticipated in the weather conditions over all the sub-divisions of the state, but both the maximum and minimum temperatures will uphold its rising trend.

For Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra, both the day and night temperatures would remain on a higher facet. In Vidarbha region, the temperatures may increase by one or two degrees. Lastly in the sub-division of Marathwada, the temperatures may rise and settle near the normal level.

So in a nutshell, clear weather, with bright sunshine is expected to linger in Maharashtra.

At this juncture, let us take a brief look of the effect of weather on the agriculture:

Farmers are recommended to take suitable actions to avoid pest infestation and provide irrigation to the summer crop as per need. Moreover, complete the harvesting of crops like Jowar, Bengal Gram and Wheat and store or move the harvested crop produce to a risk free place to avoid losses.
