The withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon commenced on September 20 from western parts of Rajasthan and on the same day, Monsoon has withdrawn from Northwest Gujarat also. Gujarat has witnessed complete withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon on October 14th with a delay of around 9 days.

Weather of Gujarat is now completely dry and sunny. Day temperatures have increased and some parts of Gujarat have been witnessing maximum in higher thirties. Districts such as Bhuj and new Kandla have crossed 38 degrees. We expect temperatures to remain in upper thirties over many parts of Gujarat in coming days also.

On the other hand, morning and night are comfortable as the minimums are between 19 and 22 degree over many parts of Gujarat. Difference between day and night temperature is significantly high. October is usually considered as second summer for Gujarat.

The reason for it being called so is as Monsoon withdraws from the state, sky becomes clear with bright sunshine and day temperatures start increasing. Temperature will start dropping by end of October or first week of November. Day will become comfortable and nights will be cool.
