Weather in Srinagar, Shimla, Manali to remain pleasant, perfect for weekend travel

Hills 1Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh have been witnessing widespread rain and snow due to the recurring Western Disturbances over the hilly regions. Thus, most places in the hills were blanketed with snowfall. In fact, not only did the higher reaches of the states witnessed rain and snowfall but the foothills also recorded a fair amount of weather activity.

Moreover, the minimum temperatures went up to subzero degree in Srinagar and Shimla. The minimum of Srinagar dropped up to freezing -5.7°C. However, with the passage of the Western Disturbance, the day temperatures have now risen. Maximums are settling above normal over Shimla and are in the normal range over Srinagar. The day temperature is hovering around 16°C and 10°C, over Shimla and Srinagar, respectively.

In fact, the minimums have also increased a little and are settling normal or slightly above normal over the hilly regions.

As per Skymet Weather, rain and snowfall activity is likely to abate Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the next three to four days. Thus, the weekend will be rain-free for Shimla, Manali, Srinagar, Auli, Nainital, and Mussoorie. The weather during the day would be pleasant and sunny. Meanwhile, the nights will be cold but not reach to the freezing point, i.e., at sub-zero.

Henceforth, it is the perfect time to relish pleasant weather conditions across the hill stations. In fact, rain and snow will not be any hindrance for the devotees as well who want to visit holy shrines such as Vaishno Devi, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

According to weathermen, another Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas round February 21. During that time, rain and snow will make a comeback and will last for a longer duration. Therefore, make use of the pleasant weather and head to the hills for a mesmerizing experience.
