The amount of rain has decreased in South India and the places that were receiving rain in the past few days will experience more or less dry weather conditions in the next 48 hours. Due to the absence of a weather system from the Bay of Bengal, northerly winds could reach up to the interiors of South India and pull down night temperatures that had risen due to clouds caused by trails of Cyclone Madi.
Kanyakumari, Madurai, Kodaikanal and Tiruchirapalli have recorded some amount of rain in the last 24 hours but they would witness dry spells for the next two days as there is no forecast of a weather system in the Bay of Bengal. Some clouding may persist in coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala which could bring isolated rain in the next two days.
Lowest minimum temperature in Tamil Nadu was recorded at 10.5 degrees in Kodaikanal on Sunday which is 2 degrees above normal. Decrease in rain and cloud could bring the minimum back to normal in the next two days. Kodaikanal recorded 0.3 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
Weather in Chennai, which was experiencing above normal night temperatures will witness a fall in the next two days to become normal. However, daytime may turn a bit warm as the sky will start clearing up and turn sunny.
