The Northwestern plains have been observing pre-Monsoon rain, thundershower, thunderstorm, and dust storm activity along with gusty winds and intense lightning strikes for the past 48 hours. The intensity of the showers was so much that many trees got uprooted and electric poles fell off. Due to these incidents, there was an extensive loss of life and property.

With the extensive rainfall activity, the day and night temperatures which were running above normal are now settling below normal by 2°C to 3°C, over most places.

As per Skymet Weather, the weather systems which were responsible for these weather activities over North Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana have now weakened.

A weak trough is still persisting over Northwest Rajasthan to Madhya Pradesh. In fact, a fresh Western Disturbance is expected to occur by tomorrow. However, the Western Disturbances would be feeble in nature and may not induce a cyclonic circulation over the Northwestern Plains.

Therefore, we do not expect any significant weather activity over North Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana. The weather will mainly remain dry. With this, the temperatures are also likely to start rising gradually. A rise of 2°C to 3°C is expected in the next 48 hours. However, heatwave conditions are not expected over Northwest India.

As per weathermen, another spell of dust storm, thundershower and thunderstorm is expected over many parts of the Northwestern Plains around May 8. Until then, both the temperatures are expected to rise.
