The city of Pune has been witnessing above normal temperatures wherein maximum temperature yesterday settled at 39.4 degrees which is four degrees above the normal levels with the minimum settling at 24.9 degrees which is two notches above normal.
There has not been any rainfall over the city of Pune for the last one month or so and the weather in Pune has been completely dry. Now, Pre-Monsoon rain in Pune is all set to commence during the next two to three days.
Sky may become cloudy to partly cloudy on many occasions. These rains in Pune will be very light and patchy in nature and will be attributed to a Trough extending from South Gujarat to Goa across Konkan coast. The Trough will be feeble, but the effect may be felt over Madhya Maharashtra with Pune witnessing isolated light rains. In fact, Mumbai has seen some rains during the morning hours
Temperatures may see a fall by a couple of degrees during the next two to three days but do not expect the rain intensity to be very heavy during this time.
This year, Monsoon onset has been delayed and will only make an onset over Kerala by June 7 and will have a sluggish progress thereafter as well, however, Pre Monsoon rain in Kerala will continue.
We do not expect much rain in Pune during the first week of June, and as the onset of Monsoon will be delayed in Pune as well, thus, isolated light rains will only be seen in Pune.
The intensity of rains in Pune will increase just before the onset which will only happen after the second week of June, around the time when it reaches Mumbai.
