As we begin to enter into February, a month of good weather lies ahead of all major metro cities of India. Here’s a look at the weather forecast for 48 hours in these cities.
Delhi - The capital city Delhi, already witnessing foggy weather will continue to reel under the same weather conditions for the next few days. The next 24 hours will see a dense fog cover and nil visibility at many places in the city, as a new Western Disturbance will change the wind pattern to humid southeasterly, leading to a thick layer of fog and colder daytime. Maximum temperature could settle below 20⁰C. After 48 hours, fog may reduce and the minimums may see a marginal drop, settling below 10⁰C. While the weather will be dry for 48 hours, light rain in Delhi is a possibility from 2nd February onwards. Dilliwaalas are busy enjoying the last few days of the cold winter weather in Delhi, before the warm and dry season begins by the end of February.
Mumbai - Mumbaikars are witnessing a warm weather in the city with fans already coming into use. The day will start with a hazy morning but the visibility will not be affected much. Afternoons will be warm and at times uneasy as the maximums may soar to 33⁰C. However, light to moderate breeze will provide some comfort to those out on the roads. The evening may not be too breezy and cool but will provide much needed relief from the day’s heat. Minimum temperature will settle between 18 and 20⁰C.
Kolkata - The busy city of Kolkata will wake up to a foggy and misty morning as the nearby water bodies will add to the moisture level in the air. Some pockets could observe thick mist and very poor visibility. Day will be slightly warm and sunny in the Mishti city. Winds will be light northerlies and will pick up speed (10 to 15kmph) on Saturday, helping in lifting the fog cover. Maximums will record between 26 and 28⁰C for 48 hours while the minimums will settle between 12 and 14⁰C.
Bangalore - Shallow fog and thick haze will be the highlights of the weather in Bangalore. The visibility around sunrise could drop to less than a kilometer. However it may improve (5 to 6 km) soon enough. The people of Bangalore eagerly awaiting some changes in the weather in terms of rain will enjoy Friday’s weather. No we aren't hinting at chances of rain in the city but thundery development in some pockets of the city due to enough moisture content in the air. Weather in Bangalore on Saturday will be dry and partly cloudy with very cool nights. Minimums will settle between 14 and 16⁰C. A light jacket will be a must for riders.
Chennai - Weather wise there will be a lull in Chennai with no major changes expected during the next 48 hours. At around 30⁰C, the daytime in Chennai will be warm but not as warm as Mumbai. Moderate breeze (northeasterly winds) of up to 20 kmph will provide some comfort. However, a sun screen shouldn’t be forgotten! Partly cloudy skies will fail to bring any rain. Night will be largely comfortable with minimums settling in the range of 20 to 21⁰C.
Hyderabad - A misty morning is the forecast for Hyderabad on Friday and is expected to remain the same for the next two days. Sky will be mainly clear with patchy clouds. Wind speed could be between 10 to 20 kmph. Maximums in this city of Nawabs could settle between 20 to 30⁰C just like the other neighbouring metro cities of peninsular India. Moist easterly-southeasterly winds will make the day slightly humid at times.
