Maharashtra hot weather

The weather of entire Maharashtra has been heating up for the last many days. Dry and hot weather conditions have gripped the entire state. In fact, residents of Vidarbha are continuously battling severe heat wave conditions, while isolated pockets inMarathwadaand Madhya Maharashtra are reeling under heat wave conditions.

During the last 24 hours, weather has remained almost dry, however isolated light rains were observed in parts of Vidarbha, wherein Amravati received only 2 mm of rains. The residents were desperately waiting for rains, however, these rains, which were almost negligible did no good to the state in terms of either lowering down the temperatures or helping the state to get rid ofheat wave conditions.

According to the data available with Skymet, "With a maximum of 46.8℃, Chandrapur in Maharashtra was the hottest place in Maharashtra yesterday, followed by Bramhapuri 46.5℃, Akola 45.7℃, Amravati 45.8℃ and Parbhani 45.6℃."

According to our meteorologists, light rains were a result of a Trough which is extending from East Madhya Pradesh up to North interior Karnataka across Vidarbha and Marathwada. However, for next two days Maharashtra would have to reel under extreme heat conditions.

The day temperatures are still above normal over most parts of the state and no relief from heat wave is expected for the next two days. Thereafter, June 2 or 3 onward, our weathermen are predictingisolated light rain and thundershower activities in parts of Vidarbha.By June 5 and 6, parts of Marathwada and South Madhya Maharashtra may also get covered by these rains.

Rains will help in lowering down the temperatures of the state. A marginal relief is also expected from heat wave conditions in some parts of the state.
