As had been forecast earlier by Skymet, dust storm and thunderstorm activities were witnessed over western and northern parts of Madhya Pradesh yesterday evening. These activities were accomapnied with strong winds and lightning strikes over a few parts. However, these weather activities were mainly patchy in nature. Weather over the state of Chhattisgarh however remained dry.
Today, these weather activities are only going to expand in coverage, affecting eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh as well. West Madhya Pradesh, on the other hand will see some reduced activity. Some rains, thundershower and dust-storm are also in bags for the state of Chhattisgarh today.
Major cities like Jabalpur, Sidhi, Satna, Raipur, Jagdalpur, Raigarh, Mandla, Ambikapur are likely to get affected.
The reason for these activities is the formation of a trough from Bihar to the eatern parts of Madhya Pradesh across Chhattisgarh.
Tiull now, dry weather has been persisting over both the states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for the past many days. Now it is all set to change as a rainy spell is likely to make an appearance.
By April 12, weather activities over most parts of Madhya Pradesh will take a backseat. However, southern parts of Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas of Madhya Pradesh may see some thunderstorm and dust storm.
These rains will fail to give any relief from the ongoing heatwave conditions as the rains will only take place in the later part of the day. Night temperatures however, might see some drop.
