Goa, a Portuguese colony with a rich history has something to offer to every traveller.
Tourists flock in abundance from November to February in Goa. The weather during this time is pleasant, with far and few rains. Day temperatures are more or less in the comfort range with pleasant and cool nights.
The annual precipitation for Goa is 3000 mm, wherein the months of June and July are the rainiest with 900 mm of rain. Monsoon knocks the door in Goa around June 9, just a day prior to Mumbai.
Heat begins in the state from the month of March, however it is bearable. As we go from March to April and then further ahead, heat keeps building up, with the month of May breaking records. In March, there are very bleak chances of rain with April following the same line. However, a freak occurrence of thunderstorms for a day or two cannot be ruled out.
The lowest and highest maximum for the month of March is 30°C and 38°C, respectively. Similarly, the lowest and highest minimums are 17°C and 27°C, respectively. March is the month of transition wherein warm weather becomes hot as soon as we enter April.
Rain is at its peak in the month of May and average maximum during this time is 30°C. The sea conditions become really rough during monsoons. However, the sea conditions are fine for the months of March and April. From the tourist point of view also, March month seems to be favorable keeping the weather conditions in mind. Nonetheless, hotter days lie ahead of Goa.
