Weather in Delhi to improve in next 72 hours

The spell of rain in Delhi has now taken a backseat. Today morning parts of Delhi witnessed dense fog but the sun shone brightly after 10 am. With 21.6°C as the average maximum temperature for the first 15 days of the month of February, Delhi witnessed the coldest February in the last five years. However, this on-going spell of cold weather in Delhi will show some improvement.

The maximum temperature recorded yesterday was 17.7°C. Today, a sunny afternoon is likely to raise the maximum to around 20°C. Night temperatures will also show a marginal rise. As no significant system is expected for the next 3 to 4 days, weather in Delhi will improve now onward and the day temperature could touch mid-twenties. However, the maximums will remain below normal for the next two days.

Fog in India

Today morning dense fog was reported in Delhi/NCR, parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, south Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. The general visibility reduced to 200 meters in pockets of Delhi, Sundernagar, Bareilly, Lucknow and Gaya. According to Skymet, the intensity of fog will decrease in the northern plains as the winds have gained strength. Tomorrow, fog in East India and mainly the Indo-Gangetic plains will be shallow and clear out by 10 am. The Western Disturbance has moved away to East India with a trough line in the foothills of the Himalayas.
