According to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, simultaneous and frequent occurrence of weather systems across the country had kept the day temperatures below average.
As per Skymet, frequent passage of Western Disturbances impacted the temperature profile in North India, while induced cyclonic circulations over Central and Western India kept the temperatures down there.
Similarly, maximum temperatures in South India did not see a rise on account of wind discontinuity combined with monsoon trough and easterly winds blowing over the region.
In the wake of these weather systems, rain activity also surpassed the monthly normal rainfall by at least two to three times.

As per the latest forecast by Skymet, May is also expected to follow the above pattern and as soon as the cooler May comes to an end, Southwest Monsoon will quickly make an appearance by 27th May.
