Weather forecast for the week in India from 9th February to 15th February

February 9, 2015 3:21 PM |

Sunny weather in DelhiIt is going to be a very lean week in terms of weather across the country. Only for some light rain expected in central parts of the country, the weather is largely going to be dry. And in absence of any weather system, the day temperatures that are already settling above normal at many places are expected to rise.

Let’s have a detailed look at the weather across the country.

Weather in North India

North India is observing a comfortable weather as the temperatures are settling close to the normal average at many places. These temperatures are going to maintain as there isn’t any system in sight. Even the hilly areas will observe a pleasant weather for most part of the week. However, towards the end of the week, by Friday, there could be some light rain, up in the hills. The plains will remain unaffected.

Weather in Central India

Central India is the only region where some weather activity is expected this week. A cyclonic circulation in south Gujarat and adjoining Maharashtra is likely to give rain in the region. The rainfall will be light and widespread with the rain belt gradually shifting to Vidarbha and Marathwada. At the moment the day temperatures in Maharashtra are settling in the low thirties but as the cyclonic circulation gives rain in the region there could be a marginal drop in the maximum temperature, while the minimum will observe a rise. After the clearance of the system the temperatures will return to normal. South Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha could also observe some rain during the period.

Weather in East and Northeast India

Except for some rain in Arunachal Pradesh, there isn’t much going to happen in the region weather-wise. The weather will largely remain comfortable but some places could experience day temperatures settling in the low thirties, particularly in Jharkhand and West Bengal.

Weather in South India

Other than some rain expected in southern parts of coastal Tamil Nadu, the weather will be dry in entire southern peninsular region this week. The temperatures are going to maintain with maximum temperatures along the west coast expected to settle in the mid-30s. In the east coast we can expect the maximums hover around 30 degrees Celsius. The interior parts are likely to be much warmer.
