There are chances of rain and snow during the first half of the week in the hills and plains of North India. The second half of the week will also experience a feeble Western Disturbance giving light rain and snow in the region.
The southern peninsula will also observe some weather activity in terms of light rain, while the remaining parts of the country will experience minimal weather.
Here’s a look at the weather across the country:
Weather in North India
A Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan will give rain and snow in the hills and plains of North India on Monday, February 2 and Tuesday, February 3. The weather activity will be light during the first day of the week, though some precipitation will be recorded in the hills, while the plains will receive light rain.
On Tuesday the weather activity will gain pace and give some good amounts of rain and snow in the hills. The plains could also observe fair amounts of rain. By the middle of the week, the weather will clear only to come back as a feeble Western Disturbance by the end of the week.
Once again light rain and snow is likely in the hills and plains of North India during the week. These back to back weather systems will pull down the maximum temperatures, while the minimums will rise. Fog will be observed only in pockets.
Weather in Central India
In terms of weather there is very little expected in Central India this week. There is hardly any chance of rain and clouding however, it will be one of the warmest pockets in India. The day temperatures are already settling close or marginally above the monthly average. The night temperatures are also settling in the high 20s thus making the region warm. These temperatures are expected to sustain for the week as there isn’t any weather activity in sight.
Weather in East and Northeast India
The weather in East and Northeast India is going to remain subdued. There isn’t any rain expected in the region this week. Neither there is any chance of cold wave or cold day conditions gripping the region. The temperatures will settle at comfortable levels. Foggy condition will largely be missing but pockets like Gorakhpur cold observe occasional fog.
Weather in South India
The first half of the week will be dry but as we move towards the second half of the week light rain will be experienced in coastal Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The temperatures are going to remain the same with maximum temperatures along the west coast expected to settle in the mid-30s. In the east coast we can expect the maximums hover around 30 degrees Celsius.
