October 21, 2013 6:46 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Here’s a look at the weather forecast for the week in the entire country:

North India-Cool northerly winds from the hills will make the mornings nippy in Delhi along with the rest of north and northwest India for the entire week. Morning minimums, which are already in the range of 17 to 19ºC, could further drop marginally. Day will be comfortable as the maximum will not go beyond 33 degrees. Sky will be mainly clear or sunny and the humidity levels will be low.

East and Northeast-Barring Odisha and West Bengal, monsoon has retreated from most parts of east India. Daytime will now remain dry and partly cloudy in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. Maximums here will settle in the range of 29 to 32ºC. As a trough extends from north coastal Odisha to the Bay of Bengal, coastal Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal will continue to receive scattered rain this whole week. In the northeast, cool and moisture laden easterly winds will cause rain throughout the week.

Central India-With dry days and very cool nights, weather in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh will be similar to that of north India. Light northeasterly winds will continue to blow all day and the skies will be mainly clear. Very cool nights with morning minimums between 16 to 18ºC will be enjoyed by all. However, Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat will be warmer than the rest with maximums hovering in mid thirties. Nights will also be slightly warm and humid here.

South India- While almost the entire country experiences dry weather, it will be rainy and cloudy in peninsular India. For the first half of the week, rain will be heavy or very heavy with up to 60 mm at coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema and north Tamil Nadu. This is mainly because of a low pressure system in the Bay of Bengal. There will be light rainfall at Telangana, Kerala and south Karnataka. From Thursday onwards, the intensity of rain is likely to decrease and cloud cover is likely to reduce. Day temperatures will be below 30 degrees in most parts and minimums will hover around 20 degrees. Temperatures will stay below the normal average till rain continues and will start to rise gradually afterwards.
