Weather forecast for the week from 23rd to 29 September

North and northwest India

Some parts of east Rajasthan will get rain during the first two days of the week but thereafter the weather will remain mainly dry with chances of thunder development. The weekend may see return of light rain in the hills as well as plains due to movement of a feeble Western Disturbance. Due to subdued rain and mainly clear sky, temperatures will remain high during the weekdays. First two days of the week will be sultry due to easterly winds.

Central India

The week starts with moderate to heavy rain in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The weather will continue to prevail in the area for the first three days of the week. Rain will decrease in the region after this period. Temperatures will remain below average till the middle of the week but rise towards the weekend.

East and northeast India

The week starts with subdued rain and above normal temperatures in the region. Rain will again increase mid-week onwards as two weather systems have been forecast to influence the area. Two troughs (region of intensified moist winds) one from foothills of Himalayas to east Uttar Pradesh to Arunachal Pradesh and the other from sub-Himalayan West Bengal to North Bay of Bengal are expected to form. Temperatures will also go down subsequently due to the weather system.

West coast

West coast will continue to receive rain during the week. North coastal parts of Maharashtra will witness increase in rain at the start of the week but by the middle of the week rain will decrease.

South India

Karnataka and Kerala coast will continue to get light rain with a few moderate spells throughout the week. East coast over Andhra Pradesh and north Tamil Nadu will see increase in rain by the weekend.  Rain will remain scanty in the interiors of south Peninsula and mainly dry weather is expected to prevail throughout the week.
