While Delhi will shortly bid adieu to Monsoon, Kolkata and Mumbai will also say their goodbyes to the Southwest Monsoon in a fortnight or so. However, Chennai will see wetter days even after the withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon as the Northeast Monsoon is about to make a grand entry after fifteen days or so.

September has followed the same track and the city is still 100 mm short of its average rainfall. As of now, Mumbai has observed 204 mm of rain in September against the monthly average of 312 mm. This is one of the lowest rainfall figures for Mumbai in the last ten years, the lowest being 191 mm in the year 2013. For the coming days in September, no rainfall activity is expected over Mumbai.
