Skymet weather forecast shows that the remaining week will be crucial for entire north India and east and northeast India, whereas it will end on a dull note for central and south India. Here’s a look.
North and northwest India: The week began with no activity in Delhi, however very little isolated rain of 2mm was recorded on Tuesday. But the week may turn interesting as the weather is expected to change significantly. Dry weather may disappear as Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and south and east Rajasthan could have rain from the 6th of July onwards. Rain could be light to moderate. In the hills, the landslide and flood situation may become worse as heavy rains will lash Uttarakhand once again on the 6th and 7th of July. Rain could be up to 100mm or more. Himachal Pradesh will also have rain over the weekend.
East and Northeast India: Monsoon rains will be active over east and northeast India during the last days of this week. Rain could be moderate to heavy in some pockets of Bihar, the foothills of Himalayas and sub Himalayan West Bengal. Orissa which has had little rain in last few days could now receive moderate rain near the coast due to circulation of winds. Light rain is expected over east U.P and Jharkhand. Northeast India will see an increase in the rainfall figures over Arunachal Pradesh and upper Assam. The other sister states could have scattered rain on the weekend.
Central India: The remaining three days of this week will be dull in terms of rain, but gladly so. Central India has been the main area of activity in this monsoon season. Rains have been heavy time to time. Earlier we reported up to 400mm of rain in Bhopal in the month of June. And Indore recorded 250mm of very heavy rain in the last 24hrs due to a monsoon trough. But now as the trough has moved away towards Gujarat and Rajasthan, rain will significantly reduce over entire central India and temperature may start rising gradually. Rain will be below 5mm in Madhya Pradesh, Vidharbha and Marathwada and the weather will be mainly dry.
South India: Nothing significant for south India as well. Monsoon rains will be close to nil in Tamil Nadu, at the Andhra coast, in Telangana and Rayalseema. Below 5mm of rain may occur in the interiors of south India, i.e. mainly at Bangalore. The west coast of peninsular India will witness moderate rain between 20 to 30mm. Rain will be below 10mm in Mumbai and the weekend will be mainly dry and windy.
