The country is all set to go for the 16th Lok Sabha election polls to be held in nine phases from 7th April to 12th May. The Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath along with two other commissioners HS Brahma and SNA Zaidi, announced on Wednesday that counting of votes will take place on the 16th of March for all the 543 Lok Sabha constituencies.
What’s in store for the future?
This exciting battle will decide the future of the country headed either by Narendra Modi or Rahul Gandhi with little possibility of a third party taking top position. Delhi and 14 other states will cast their votes in the third phase on the 10th of April. The other eight days of polling are 7th, 9th, 12th, 17th, 24th and 30th of April. 7th and 12th of May will be last two days of the most interesting battle held in the country.
Weather in India on 10th April
On the 10th of April, 92Lok Sabha seats will go to polls in 14 States and Union Territories of Delhi, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Delhi and North India- Delhiites will cast their votes in hot and sunny conditions. The day is likely to be blistering with maximum temperature peaking at 36°C and thus, it is advisable to reach the polling booth early in the morning to avoid the scorching sun. Rain is uncertain during April as records show that average for the month varies from nil to 100 mm.
Conditions will be almost similar in Haryana with Hisar recording 37°C as the maximum. Chandigarh, being on the foothills, will be a shade better than Delhi.
Jammu & Kashmir- Here the weather condition will be good with rising temperatures. The average maximum and minimum for the month of April are 20.4°C and 7.7°C, respectively. Snowfall reduces but thunderstorm activity picks up in this month.
Bihar and Jharkhand - The day temperature will be high at around 38°C in Patna. Chances of rain are less in both the states but thunderstorms could be possible.
Chhattisgarh and Odisha- Raipur and Jharsuguda will be extremely hot with maximums around 40°C. In the coastal areas of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, day temperature will be near 35°C. Here the chances of having inclement weather in terms of rain increases in April.
Maharashtra and east Madhya Pradesh- In central Maharashtra, people of Nagpur will go for the polls on a very hot day with maximum touching 40°C. Heat will be the main concern in Jabalpur as well.
Lakshadweep and Andaman & Nicobar Islands- It will be a rainy period for this part of the country with day temperatures around 33°C.
Kerala- In this state, April is the hottest month of the year when maximums reach 33°C
The spectacular debut of Arvind Kejriwal, holding the flag of Aam Aadmi Party high in Delhi, holds testimony to the fact that the “government is of the people, by the people and for the people.” This time, an estimated 81.4 crore voters will exercise their right to shape their own future. If an adult citizen of the country still hasn’t enrolled for the electoral rolls, the Election Commission will offer one more opportunity on the 9th of March. Camps will be set up on all the 930,000 polling booths spread across the country. One can also add or modify their details already registered in the electoral list.
The Assembly elections are also slated to be held simultaneously in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim. The national capital has to wait for the Assembly elections until the Central government takes shape.
