The Low pressure area is persisting over Northern parts of Madhya Pradesh. Associated cyclonic circulation is extending up to 5.8 Kms above mean sea level. This is the very system which has resulted in very heavy rains over Rajasthan as well as Madhya Pradesh during the last few days. There has been moderate with isolated heavy spells in the past 24 hours as well.
In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am yesterday, Guna received 65 mm of rains, Bundi 35 mm, Raisen 33 mm, Shajapur 30 mm, Bhopal 30 mm, Pachmarhi 28 mm.
As per weathermen, there is a possibility of continuation of rainfall activities over the western parts of Rajasthan and northwestern Madhya Pradesh for the next 18-24 hours. Heavy rain may be seen in some parts. Thereafter, the low pressure area will move towards the north weakening in to a Cyclonic Circulation.
Rains will be more over Madhya Pradesh including the cities of Gwalior, Guna, Vidisha, Bhopal. Adjoining parts of Uttar Pradesh is also expected to see some rainfall activity during the same time frame. Thereafter, most parts of Rajasthan will go dry for at least one week. In fact, rains will shift to the foothills of the Himalayas thereafter.
