Most places of Interior Peninsular India have been witnessing weak Monsoon rains since last 10 days. According to Skymet Meteorlogy Division in India, Rayalseema, North Interior Karnataka, Interior Kerala and Tamil Nadu have been recording subdued rainfall, which is much below the normal average.
As per the latest forecast, these areas will continue to witness weak rains during next few days. This will further increase the rainfall deficiency over interior parts of Peninsular India.
Monsoon surge over the region had been fragile as no significant weather system had formed over the interior parts. Moreover, we do not foresee any strong system coming up for at least one week which can revive the Monsoon current.

Meanwhile, West Coast, Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh witnessed good rainfall on account of several weather systems. Skymet predicts that Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh will continue with moderate showers due to a low pressure area developing over North Bay of Bengal.
While, an off-shore trough extending from South Maharashtra up to Kerala along the West Coast will keep Monsoon active over Konkan & Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
June ended with normal rainfall for Coastal parts of Peninsular India, while interior parts of the region were highly deficit.
