The South India region recovered in terms of rain deficit due to the last system which formed gave rains over Andhra Pradesh as well as Karnataka. As of now, entire South India is at -3 percent
While the month of June was poor, the Second half of July proved to be a saving grace and good showers were seen over many parts of South India including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana as well as Kerala.
For the next 10 days, we do not expect any significant activity and rains will be very minimal due to which the deficit over South India is expected to increase. The state of Kerala which never got up from the deficit rainfall may see the monsoon deficit touching up to 50% as well. Even the entire Karnataka state may also see an increase in the deficit.
