Kolkata received heavy rainfall due to the effect of Cyclone Mora. Even adjoining areas received a good amount of rainfall. After the exit of cyclone, Mora weather remains hot and humid.
A north- south trough is extending from East Bihar to coastal Odisha across Jharkhand. Due to this weather system over Kolkata, very warm and humid weather with moderate winds will prevail for the next 24 hours.
Partly cloudy sky will continue to prevail for the next 24 to 36 hours. Thereafter another system will develop which will cast a fresh spell of rain and thundershower along with squally winds. According to Skymet weather, these weather activities will affect almost all parts of the city. The development of this weather system is due to the advancement of South West Monsoon.

The current day temperature is 38°C which is 2 to 3°C above normal while night temperatures are 3 to 4°C above normal. Temperatures are likely to remain around 37°C on June 5 also but a significant fall in temperature is likely on June 6 due to rain and thundershower activities.
Monsoon is likely to make an onset over Kolkata on the usual dates this year.
