Most parts of Maharashtra have been witnessing warm days and cool nights along with dry weather conditions. The daytime highs are settling two to three degrees above the normal levels across the state.
Meanwhile, day temperatures of Vidarbha and parts of Marathwada regions are still settling three to five degrees above normal. For instance, in the past day, Wardha recorded the maximum temperature at 35°C which was 5 degrees above the normal. Similarly, Akola witnessed the daytime high scaling by 4 degrees each.
Mumbai too breached its average monthly maximum of 31.2°C and settled about 3 degrees beyond its normal at 33.7°C. Other parts of the state have also recorded above normal maximums.

On the other hand, the minimums in most parts of Maharashtra are settling below the normal levels by three to four degrees. Today, Parbhani recorded its minimum at 5 degrees below the normal levels. Moreover, Ahmednagar, Chandrapur, Sholapur, and Nagpur also witnessed the minimums plunging by 4 degrees each, respectively.
This clearly indicates that the diurnal variation between both the day and night temperatures is on the higher side.
As per Skymet Weather, the weather conditions across most of Maharashtra are expected to follow a similar trend. The day temperatures will continue to remain above normal by at least a few notches.
Though the minimums over North Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa region may rise marginally, chances of these going above the normal levels are not very likely.
Good news is in store as Skymet Weather predicts possibilities of light rain at a few places in South Konkan and Goa regions along with parts of South Madhya Maharashtra region between February 6 and 8.
The weather of remaining parts of Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and other regions may become partly cloudy to cloudy leading to drop in the maximums which would bring in some respite from the rising mercury levels.
