Warm weather to continue in Maharahstra and Telangana

February 9, 2017 4:20 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Both Telangana and Maharashtra have been reeling under warm weather conditions. Due to an absence of any significant weather system, both the states have remained rain-free for the past few days.

Telangana had not received traces of rains ever after Northeast Monsoon bid adieu to the country. In fact, during Northeast Monsoon as well, Telangana remained almost parched. Parts of Maharashtra on the other contrary, observed some traces of light rains last month.

Due to this prolonged dry spell, temperatures across most parts of Telangana along with many parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra have scaled up drastically. Mercury level across all the above-mentioned regions have been settling between the 33°C and 35°C mark. A gradual rise in the minimums has also been observed.

As per Skymet Weather, now a cyclonic circulation and a trough are expected to form over Madhya Pradesh at around the evening of February 11. Hence, the warm and humid southerly and southeasterly winds are expected to continue prevailing over the region for another 3-4 days.

This would, therefore, result in the minimums to increase further, however, not much changes in the maximums are expected.

Moreover, due to the minimums scaling up, the nights are expected to become comparatively warmer thereby abating the cold weather conditions that were prevailing during early morning and night. Days are likely to remain sultry making the weather conditions somewhat uncomfortable for people residing in these parts.
