Warm weather expected over Delhi as minimums to rise

Since last two to three days, both maximum and minimum temperatures have been observed near normal over Delhi and NCR region. The reason for this fall in temperature can be attributed to dry and cold winds from the north direction blowing over the region.

Now the Western Disturbance which was affecting Jammu and Kashmir has moved away eastwards, hence we can expect cold and dry northwesterly winds to continue blowing over the national capital for another two days.

According to Skymet Weather, another fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas. The system is expected to affect the northern plains by March 7. In wake of this, the wind pattern will once again change from cold to humid winds.

Thus, these humid winds will increase the minimum temperatures by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius over Delhi and NCR. Besides, isolated rain and thundershowers are also expected to occur on March 8 and 9 in and around the national capital.

By March 10 and 11, the rain intensity is expected to increase and light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected over Delhi and NCR region. Also, one or two short spells of hailstorm may occur.

Last week of February was the hottest period for Delhi and NCR region. So much so that residents were facing dry and uncomfortable weather, as temperatures were settling above the normal levels.
