After witnessing rains last week, Delhi is now gearing up for warm summers ahead. Dry weather has make a comeback and so does the bright sunshine.
However, both maximum and minimum temperatures have been settling near normal, unlike the few days back wherein temperatures had surpassed 40-degree mark.
All thanks to the moderate northerly winds blowing from snow clad Himalayas, that has arrested he rise in mercury over the northwestern plains including Delhi-NCR. But afternoons will be warm.
On Friday, both Palam Observatory and Safdarjung observatory recorded day maximums at 35.6 degrees.
According to Skymet Weather, similar weather conditions will continue at least till April 10. Thereafter, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Jammu and Kashmir that will once again change the wind pattern over the region.
At that time, warm southwesterly winds will start blowing from desert state of Rajasthan that is already witnessing hot weather. These winds will then increase the day temperatures significantly over Delhi-NCR.
Weathermen predict that after April 12, day maximums may surpass 40°C in Delhi and city will witness heatwave like conditions.
