It’s been almost a month that the weather conditions over Madhya Maharashtra have remained dry. However, Vidarbha and Marathwada did witness occasional rain and thundershowers around mid-February, i.e. from February 11-14.

In wake of dry weather, both maximum and minimum temperatures will remain above the normal levels. As on Wednesday, Satara recorded a maximum of 35.5°C, which is three degrees above the normal level. Likewise, Solapur registered a maximum of 37.5°C and Sangli 36.3°C, which are two and one degrees above normal, respectively.
Talking about the minimum temperatures, Nashik recorded a minimum of 16.2°C and Pune 14.9°C, which again were three and two degrees above normal, respectively.
Further, the weathermen do not expect any significant weather system to form over and around Madhya Maharashtra that could give some rains over the region in the coming days.
Thus, Madhya Maharashtra will continue to settle with warm days and sunny sky conditions. No relief is foreseen from this prevalent weather for at least a week.
Thereafter, a cyclonic circulation is expected to develop over Rajasthan and Gujarat around March 6 or March 7. Under the influence of this weather system, warm and humid winds from Arabian Sea will begin over the region.
Hence, night temperatures are expected to increase during that time, leading to warmer nights. However, there will be no striking change in the maximums. We could say that the weather will continue to be dry and warm over the region.
At this stage, let’s have a brief of the prevalent weather on the agriculture:
Farmers are suggested to complete the harvesting of Wheat and Bengal gram. Also, finish the harvesting of matured fruits like Grapes and Pomegranate. They should also irrigate the summer crops like Groundnut and vegetables.
