The Delhi-NCR region including the cities of Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall activity during the last week, due to the effect of Cyclone Daye which had formed into a low-pressure area and was sited over Haryana and adjoining areas.
However, after the weakening of this weather systems, the weather over Northwest India including the capital city of Delhi went completely dry and a significant rise in day temperatures was observed.
As far as the performance of Southwest Monsoon is concerned, Delhi and the NCR region has seen normal rains this time with the deficiency being a mere -1 percent this time.
Now, due to the prevalence of northwesterly winds which are dry in nature, the weather conditions over Delhi-NCR region are expected to remain warm and dry.
Moreover, due to the clear sky condition, the afternoons will remain warm, while the nights are expected to be pleasant.
Talking about the temperatures over the region, yesterday, Delhi’s Safdarjung observatory recorded its day temperatures at 35.2˚C and Palam at 34.8˚C.
Further, we expect maximum temperatures to settle between 35-36 degrees. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures would be seen between 22-24 degrees.
Thus, we can say that in the coming days the weather over Delhi NCR is expected to remain dry and warm. Also, during the next 48 hours, Monsoon is expected to mark withdrawal over the Delhi-NCR region.
