Southwest Monsoon ended on a deficient note for the state of Gujarat. Though dry and warm weather had already gripped the westernmost state of the country before the withdrawal of Monsoon, the recent days were even worse.

The maximums in most parts of the state are almost on the verge of touching the 40-degree mark. Districts such as Idar and Deesa had recorded a burning 39.2 and 39.4 degree Celsius while the daytime high in Ahmedabad in the past day was 38.2 degrees Celsius.

As per Skymet Weather, an anti-cyclonic circulation is seen over Gujarat and adjoining Rajasthan. This is the reason that the weather of Gujarat is dry and warm. Moreover, the weather is likely to continue to remain warm due to the cloudless sky and continuous bright sunshine.

However, the nights are expected to remain comfortable but the day will be very warm. Normally the month of October is considered as second summers for the state and while the temperatures are already climbing, it seems that second summers post-Southwest Monsoon have already gripped the state.

Moreover, the weather conditions across the Saurashtra and Kutch region across the state will also remain warm and dry. However, the maximums will remain in higher 30’s. Though parts of South Gujarat such as Surat, Valsad, and Bhavnagar may witness a few light spells during the weekend.
