Rain in Delhi has been playing the game of hiding and seek from the last many days. Delhi rains are much awaited by Delhiites who always anticipate showers to commence whenever it gets cloudy. Delhi rains, on the contrary, have remained in the hiding since September 7.
In fact, September has not yet brought any good spell for the national capital and its adjoining regions. Even though sky became cloudy occasionally during the late afternoon or evening hours but rains did not follow. Due to the absence of rains, the maximum temperature is also setting a few notches above the normal. In the last 24 hours, the maximums settled at 36 degrees.

The similar weather pattern has been ushering over the capital of the country including the adjoining Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad. The last 24 hours were no change for Delhi and NCR. During the span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday, neither the Palam Observatory recorded any rains nor did the Safdarjung Observatory in Delhi could witness any traces.

As per Skymet Weather, moist easterly winds are blowing over the region resulting in the development of thunderclouds. These thunderclouds could lead to isolated rains in patches. However, the intensity of these showers will not cover a larger area and would give few drops of rain.
Thereafter, some light showers are foreseen for Delhi and NCR between September 19 and 20, the intensity of these rains is expected to increase around September 21 or 22. These showers will be a result of the mixing of dry northwesterly and humid southeasterly winds.
