Warm Delhi days are likely to continue

It seems that warm and dry days inDelhihave tightly gripped the city as rains have refrained themselves from showing upon Delhi and NCR from almost 4-5 days. The last rains that Delhi and its adjoining regions have observed were between September 5 and 7. However, then also, the city recorded mainly light spells.

Some isolated patchy showers did occur in Delhi and the nearby regions such asNoida,Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad at a few occasions in these last 4-5 days. However, being patchy and confined to cover shorter regions, these rains did no wonders in curtailing down the rising mercury levels. The last 24 hours were no different as both the Safdarjung and Palam Observatory has not recorded any rains.

In the wake of absence of rains, both the maximum and minimum temperatures are above normal by 2-3 degrees giving no respite to the Delhiites from the scorching afternoons. As of now also, Skymet Weather does not foresee any significant weather system prevailing over the region.

Moreover, the axis of Monsoon trough is also running close to the foothills of Himalayas. In addition to this, the dry northwesterly winds are also blowing over the northern plains including Delhi.

In the wake of this, the dry weather is anticipated to prevail in the capital of the country along with its bordering regions for at least another 4-5 days. Though isolated patchy showers may be a chance, heavy rains are ruled out for now. However, due to the prevalence of dry northwesterly winds, the moisture content in the atmosphere is likely to reduce thus resulting in reduced humidity levels as well.

On account of both, the mornings and nights of Delhi and NCR will remain somewhat comfortable. But afternoon will be warmer.Delhiitesmay brace for a sunny sky that may become partly cloudy occasionally.
