As predicted by Skymet Weather, Delhi and NCR witnessed some good rains on September 5 and 6 that ended the dry spell the national capital had been reeling under since September 2. Though the intensity of these rains was very light.
The Palam Observatory in the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Thursday witnessed 0.4 mm of rains while the Safdarjung Observatory failed to record any rains. These observations clearly indicate that the rains that Delhi observed in the last 24 hours were extremely light and patchy in nature.
As of now, Skymet Weather does not foresee any good rains over Delhi and the adjoining areas such as Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad.

Skymet Weather predicts that an anticyclone has formed over Rajasthan which is a clear sign of the commencement of the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from West Rajasthan. This is likely to happen in the next 24-48 hours. Due to this, winds will also start blowing from the northwest direction thereby reducing the humidity levels significantly.

On account of this, the weather over Delhi and NCR will become dry once again and the dry spell will remain for the next 3-4 days. Sunny weather with mostly clear sky will prevail over the area and the day temperatures that are settling in lower 30’s will scale up.
Though, isolated light rain during the late afternoon and evening hours due to localized cloud development cannot be ruled out. But these rains will be for a short duration and be covering a limited area.
