Most parts of Madhya Maharashtra remained dry throughout the month of February. However, when scattered rains and hailstorm occurred over Vidarbha and Marathwada between February 10 and 13, the sky over Madhya Maharashtra remained partly cloudy to cloudy during this time. This sky condition led to drop in day temperatures.

As of now, the temperatures, both maximum and minimums of Madhya Maharashtra are witnessing a rising trend. In fact, night temperatures of north central parts of the region are settling marginally above normal.
We do not expect much change in temperatures for the next 2 to 3 days. Weather will continue to be dry and sunny, as no major weather system is anticipated to form over and around Maharashtra during the next few days.
Thus, dry weather will maintain its clutch over Madhya Maharashtra. In fact, the whole of Maharashtra will reel under similar weather conditions. Days are expected to be very warm, while nights would remain comfortable.
At this juncture, let us take a brief look of the effect of weather on the agriculture:
Farmers in Madhya Maharashtra are recommended to complete the harvesting of matured Rabi crops as the weather will be dry and hot. Besides this, they are advised to expose the affected crops to sunlight and store it in a dry place.
Farmers are also advised to provide irrigation to the summer Groundnut crop and stay vigilant for pest/ disease incidence in fruit and vegetable fields. Also, they should opt for control measures as per severity.
