At present, the mercury is on a surge over the city of dreams. While, Santa Cruz observatory in Mumbai recorded a minimum temperature of 13.6°C on January 8 and today the night temperature has augmented to 19.4°C. This clearly indicates that almost an increase of 6 degrees was observed in a span of three days.

In the same way, maximum temperatures have also increased from 28 to 33 degree Celsius; consequently we can say that winters are almost coming to an end over Mumbai.

Now, the southeasterly winds will continue over the region for another two to three days, which will not allow the minimum temperatures to plummet. So, nights would remain comfortable but not cool.

Likewise, days would remain warm and sunny and in fact, the temperatures are likely to settle in mid 30s.

Thus, January 17 onwards, the southwesterly winds from Arabian Sea are most likely to increase the humidity levels over Mumbai. In the wake of this, day temperatures may fall by one or two notches, but the weather may become sultry.

Around January 19, the cool northeasterly winds are expected to blow over Mumbai once again which may bring some respite to the residents.
