The state of Gujarat had been witnessing Cold Wave conditions over many parts since the last four to five days. However,  temperatures have now increased over many parts of the state.

Nevertheless, the eastern and adjoining central districts of Gujarat such as Vadodara and Ahmedabad are still below normal by 3-4°C. The minimums recorded on January 2 for Vadodara and Ahmedabad are 9.9°C and 8°C, respectively.

Whereas, the minimums of rest of the places are settling near normal. For instance, the minimum recorded as on January 2 for Dwarka is 16.6°C. The day temperatures are above normal by two to three-degree Celsius for most parts of the states. Thus, it tells us that days are warm and sunny, and temperatures are around 30°C. However, night and morning continue to remain cool. Diurnal variation can be seen over the state.

Dry weather is prevailing over the state since over a month. Now also, we do not expect any major weather activity to take place. As per the experts, northerly/ northeasterly winds are expected to blow over Gujarat in another 48 hours and the minimums may drop by one or two degrees Celsius across the state. The temperatures are expected to remain below normal and night will be cool. But, due to clear sky and bright sunshine, days will be warm.

As per Skymet Weather, around January 7, winds will once again change their course and Cold Wave conditions will make a comeback.
