Southwest Monsoon ended with deficient rain for the entire state of Maharashtra. Since the beginning of the October, the weather across the state has remained almost dry.
On October 11, the state of Maharashtra was rain deficient by 79%. If we talk region wise, Konkan & Goa was deficient by 64 %, followed by Madhya Maharashtra at 69%, Marathwada at 81% and Vidarbha with the highest mark by 99%.
Further, we do not expect any other weather activity for at least next 4-5 days over the entire state. This means people would continue to battle dry and warm weather for the next couple of days.
Thereafter, light rains may occur over South Madhya Maharashtra and South Konkan & Goa around October 17, which might bring some relief.
Day maximums in Vidarbha and Marathwada will remain around mid 30s to higher 30s, making afternoons hot. However, minimum temperatures will be less than 20°C, thereby resulting into cool and pleasant weather over many interior parts of the state. Coastal areas will be comfortable with minimum temperatures ranging between 25°C-26°C.
