Warm and dry days in Rajasthan to prevail

In contrast with a few central and the southern states of the country, the weather of Northwest India has remained dry. The desert state of the country, Rajasthan too is reeling under dry and hot weather conditions. Rains have not shown up in the state from almost a month due to which, the temperatures have shot up to settle near 40-degree Celsius in most parts.

In the last 24 hours, the daytime high recorded by Jaisalmer was 40.9 °C, Bikaner 40.5°C, Phalodi 40°C, Barmer and Jodhpur both recorded 39.9°C each, and the capital city Jaipur witnessed 37.8°C temperature.

As per Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation can be marked over Central Pakistan and dry winds from there are blowing over most parts of Rajasthan and nearby Gujarat regions. On account of this, hot weather conditions are expected to continue over the northern and western regions of the state.

Districts such as Sri Ganganagar, Churu, Bikaner, and Phalodi will have to deal with hot days and mainly clear sky with bright sunshine will continue to prevail. The maximums will also rise and are expected to rest between a scorching 38°C and 40°C mainly the northern parts of the state.

While the daytime high across South Rajasthan may settle in the range of 36-37 degrees Celsius. However, nights are expected to remain comfortable. This kind of weather condition will continue for the next 2-3 days which will be due to the continuous blowing of dry winds from the Northwest. Thereafter, a marginal drop in the minimums is anticipated over many parts of Rajasthan.
