The recent rainy spells some days brought a sigh of relief to the Chennaites after the prevailing prolonged dry spell. However, these rain were short lived and at present, the clear and dry weather is prevailing in Chennai.
The current day temperatures in the city are settling in the upper 30s while the minimum is also settling several notches above the normal. In the last 24 hours, Chennai recorded the maximum temperatures settling at 32.8°C and the minimum at 27.2°C.
As per Skymet Weather, a trough is running from Central India to South Tamil Nadu. On account of this weather system, rains are all set to revive once again. As per the weatherman, the interior regions of Tamil Nadu are likely to witness scattered rain and thundershowers for next 24 hours.
One or two places in Chennai can also brace for some thunderstorms along with light rains on March 10 that are likely to continue until March 11. During this time, temperatures can also witness a marginal drop.
Thereafter, the intensity of rain and thundershowers are expected to increase by March 11 and thus a few spells of light to moderate showers can show up in parts of the city.
Henceforth, the weather across Chennai will become dry with temperatures climbing two to three degrees beyond the normal once again.
