During the last 24 hours, multiple places in Andhra Pradesh including Tuni, Kakinada, Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam have received heavy rains. According to the data available with Skymet, during the last 24 hours, Vishakhapatnam received 54 mm rains, Kalingapatnam 82 mm, Tuni 71 mm, while Kakinada recorded 56 mm rains. However, rain activities were comparatively less over Rayalaseema.
These rains were the effect of a Well Marked Low Pressure Area which is over coastal Andhra Pradesh and is gradually moving in Northwest direction. Today also, we expect heavy to very heavy rains to occur over coastal Andhra Pradesh. Moreover, multiple places have been put on red alert against heavy downpour. Scattered light to moderate rains are possible over Rayalaseema.
By tomorrow, the rain activities will start reducing over Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Light to moderate rains will continue. So, we can say that heavy rains will now subside by tomorrow. These heavy rains have already triggered waterlogging in multiple places. These upcoming rains will further worsen the situation persisting over the state.
This Well Marked Low Pressure Area has already led to very heavy rains over Andhra Pradesh for the last many days leading to waterlogging at multiple places. This however will be the last heavy spell of October over Andhra Pradesh.
