Southwest Monsoon has already covered the entire state of Telangana including Hyderabad and coastal parts of Andhra Pradesh. With this, good rain and thundershowers have been witnessed over both the regions in past many days.
In fact, during the last 24 hours, light to moderate rains along with isolated heavy falls was observed over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Vijayawada recorded 33 mm of rainfall, followed by Hyderabad 24 mm, Ramagundam 23 mm, Hanamkonda 22 mm, Nizamabad 13 mm, Nellore 8 mm, Ongole 3 mm and Tirupathi 1 mm of rains.
These rains can be attributed to the trough that is extending from Bihar up to Andhra Pradesh, bringing moisture laden winds over the area. Besides this, the Monsoon surge is also active over the region. Thus, Skymet Weather predicts more light to moderate showers to continue at many parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for the next 24 to 48 hours. Isolated heavy falls cannot be ruled out.

Thereafter, the intensity of these rains may reduce, however the weather will remain pleasant and dry across the regions. Though on and off showers cannot be ruled out over the region.
As of June 18, Coastal Andhra Pradesh is rain surplus by 46% and Telangana by 76%.
