The off shore trough is active along the West Coast, particularly from South Gujarat to North Kerala. Therefore, heavy rains are being witnessed mostly over Konkan & Goa.
The Monsoon surge seems to have weakened over the southern parts of Coastal Karnataka. At present, Kerala is also receiving rains mostly in the northern parts.
Here’s a look at the rainfall figures observed along the West Coast during last 24 hours, from 8.30 am on Friday:
Conditions seem favorable for Monsoon rains to continue along the West Coast, mostly over Konkan & Goa. Southern parts of Kerala will receive light rainfall. Looking at rest of Peninsular India, we can say that Monsoon will remain subdued over interiors of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Telangana.
