Torrential rains and thundershowers have once again returned to Madhya Pradesh during the last 24 hours. All thanks to vigorous Monsoon conditions prevailing over state.

In fact, we expect some more heavy rains today as well. According to Skymet Weather, a low pressure area has been prevailing over Chhattisgarh and adjoining East Madhya Pradesh. With this, weather conditions will remain conducive for more rains.

Places like Indore, Satna and Sagar have already started recording rains since the early Thursday morning.

Wednesday saw three-digit rainfall at various places such as Sagar and Damoh to the tune of 132 mm and 101 mm, respectively. Rest of the places have also recorded moderate to heavy showers.

Intensity of rains will be more over Central and Southeast Madhya Pradesh. Thereafter, as the system will move further west, rains will then increase over North and Southwest Madhya Pradesh.

Good rains are expected to continue over the entire state for the next 48 hours. Thereafter, rains will reduce but light Monsoon showers are likely to continue for few days.

As on September 20 mm, Madhya Pradesh was rain deficit by 23%. Bit with these fresh rains, we expect rain deficiency will drop and state will be heading towards normal rainfall.
